Beyond the reach of time

Upgraded to meet today's taste, the Napoleon III style unfurls throughout Hôtel du Palais for a stay embodying elegance, between tradition and modernity.

An iconic landmark in Biarritz, Hôtel du Palais is the only Palace on the French Atlantic coast. Recently renovated with respect for its past by Atelier Cos and Isabelle Joly Architecte du Patrimoine, the former residence of Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie is a perfect illustration of France's fine art of living. Columns, ceilings, mouldings, fabrics, as well as the furniture, have been retained and restored by the Ateliers Folin's talented craftsmen who are dedicated to preserving the soul of this place handed down by the imperial couple.

Blending Second Empire codes with those of today, this stylishness is found in each of the hotel's 86 bedrooms and 56 suites. From the Classic Room (30 sq.m) to the Ambassador Suite (65 sq.m) and Royal Suite (100 sq.m), taste, comfort, and care for detail reign supreme. Conducive to relaxation, they offer views of the town, the Courtyard of Honour, the beaches or the ocean, along with all modern comforts (luxury bedding, flat screen TVs, high-speed Wifi, individual heating and air conditioning, a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, minibar, safe, etc.). On the top floor, "Croisière" Rooms and Suites are designed in cruise cabin style with portholes and nautical furnishings, while other Rooms and Suites propose elegant, classical decor in Napoleon III style. As witnessed by prestigious wood panelling, gilding, marquetry, and upholstery in the Imperial Suite, which features a bathroom with a bathtub on feet in the shape of a lion's paws. For an exceptional stay in an ultra-luxurious Empire ambiance, the Royal Suite is a must. Breakfasts, reading and sunsets are quite simply grandiose on its magnificent panoramic terrace surveying the ocean.

In such a dazzling setting, a stay at Hôtel du Palais can be nothing less than unforgettable. Its walls steeped in history plunge you into a world beyond the reach of time, giving a glimpse of the elegance and splendour that Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie endowed on this legendary residence in the Pays Basque.
