Dominique Nougaro, General housekeeper

After entering Hôtel du Palais for the first time 30 years ago, the General Housekeeper now sees it as her second home.

"I know all the nooks and crannies of Hôtel du Palais." Dominique Nougaro immediately sets the tone. Joining the hotel as a floor housekeeper in 1995, she gradually climbed the ladder and was appointed General Housekeeper in 2010. Rather like a conductor, her score is followed to the letter each day by housekeepers, chambermaids, valets, and linen attendants. And for good reason: the 142 Rooms and Suites at Hôtel du Palais are inspected at least twice a day. "We are always on the go. Believe it or not, we cover no less than 10 kilometres per day!" says the mistress of the house with a smile.

All day long, Dominique Nougaro focuses solely on perfection. Nothing is left to chance: the undersides of beds are checked, ceiling mouldings dusted, lighting controlled, plugs cleaned… The goal? To ensure that the hotel is impeccable and that guests feel totally at ease. Being attentive, anticipating, and surprising, are essential qualities. Bespoke care is a priority. "For a birthday or wedding, a bouquet of fresh flowers is always placed in the room. And when we turn down the sheets, we always slip a chocolate on the pillow. Little details make all the difference." Versatility, kindness, rigour, and good humour are key words in her daily life. Which is why Dominique Nougaro can lay claim to the fine art of making your stay at Hôtel du Palais an unforgettable experience.
